Literature Text

i have known the night,
i have known the sky,

i have touched infinity
and spoke the tongue of God
on a balcony lifetimes away
as the sea whispered her names
for the stars above her
softly, softly
into my mind

and i
became the earth
among the planets,

the savior
of the starfish
that turn this shore
into the sky,

and you don't comprehend
but i am.

we are.

so, let's go for a swim, love,
let's drown in the freckled night.
probably the last thing i'll put up here from my myrtle beach writings.

it was 2am on the last night, and i was all alone, and i was 107% sure i could reach the stars. i felt infinite. and everything was okay.

also, look up the saving starfish story if you don't know it. i first heard it in fifth grade. i don't know why, but it stuck with me. and it made a difference.

(also, my brain keeps calling people [including me] "love." i don't really know what that's about, but it's kind of cute and i like it.)

I'm blaming this on the fact that it's late, but when I read "savior of the starfish", I pictured a super-hero type figure saving starfish...

This was simply beautiful. My favorite line, for reasons I cannot comprehend is; "let's drown in the freckled night". I just really like the idea of stars being freckles in the sky/night. Very clever. :3
